China Drying Network News The project of 400,000 tons/year phenol and acetone project of Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals Co., Ltd. started. On December 8, 2009, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals Corporation signed a memorandum on a new project for the phenol and acetone project. On the basis of a joint venture between the two companies, Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals Co., Ltd., a new 25 Million / year phenol, 150,000 tons / year acetone device. The new plant uses Mitsui Chemicals (phenol part) and is expected to operate commercially in the second quarter of 2013. On November 18, 2011, the 400,000-ton/year phenol-acetone joint venture project was formally established in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park .
