From the advantage of manufacturing to the transfer of technological advantages, occupying the high end of technology is the wish of every company, but it is not easy. China’s high-speed railway construction has its own intention to apply autonomous technology. In 2002, the Ministry of Railways launched the “Star of China”, a high-speed railway system with independent intellectual property rights, and it ended without errors. Afterwards, it introduced Siemens, Alstom, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and other partners and requested technology transfer.

The government requires that at least 70% of any railway project must be manufactured by domestic companies. This is similar to the “Detailed Rules for the Adjustment and Revitalization of the Shipbuilding Industry” proposed by the state in 2009. The “Detailed Rules” require that the satisfaction rate of the domestic market for marine diesel engines be achieved. More than 80%.

Digesting and absorbing advanced overseas technology is a way of domesticizing high-speed rail. At present, China has not only used high-speed rail technology for its own purposes, but has also been attacking cities in overseas markets, which is a great source of vitality for the Chinese machinery industry.
