Chery and JAC Announce to Accelerate the Launch of Electric Vehicles

At the New Energy Automobile Forum held in Anhui on November 2nd, both Chery and JAC Motors stated that they will speed up the listing of new energy vehicles and form a market effect as soon as possible.

Chery Deputy Chief Yuan Tao said that on November 5th, their new electric car will be officially listed. And Xia Shunli, assistant director of the JAC Automotive New Energy Vehicle Engineering Research Institute, also stated that their electric vehicles will be mass-produced and marketed by the end of this year.

Chery's upcoming electric vehicle has a design speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour and a battery life of 160 kilometers. And, this electric car can be charged at home and can be fully charged in eight hours. If it is charged at the charging station, it can be filled in 45 minutes. The cost of the vehicle is about 15 to 200,000 yuan. However, due to the state subsidy of 60,000 yuan and the Hefei subsidy of 10,000 yuan, the end-user purchase price is about 10 million.

In order to solve the problem of charging piles, Yang Zengquan, deputy mayor of Hefei City, said at the forum that by 2012, Hefei will promote 23,000 new energy vehicles, and build 20 charging stations and 23,000 charging piles. In this way, there is a charging pile for every electric car on average.
