Application scope:
This standard specifies the thermal fatigue test method for sheet metal. Including symbols, terms, samples, test equipment, test procedures, test results processing, test reports.
This standard applies to the determination of the thickness of less than 3.omm metal sheet (including other products processed into a plate-like sample) in the upper and lower temperature cycling thermal fatigue performance. Used for new material development, process selection, raw material retest and failure analysis.
Common terms:
Thermal stress: The internal stress generated when a metal material is constrained by thermal expansion and contraction under the action of an alternating temperature.
Thermal Fatigue: The metal material is cracked under multiple cycles of thermal stress.
Thermal Fatigue Resistance: The ability of a metallic material to withstand damage under thermal stress cycling. It is expressed as the length of the crack that is specified by the number of thermal cycles, and the number of thermal cycles that specifies the length of the crack.
The test device should meet the requirements:
1. The heating, cooling and temperature control system shall ensure that the sample is heated and cooled to the specified temperature within the specified time, and the maximum temperature fluctuation is not greater than ±3°C.
2. The water temperature in the water tank is maintained at 20 ± 5 °C.
3. The depth of quenching water at the notch of the sample is 5-6mm.
4. During the test, ensure that the test specimen is in the same position in the furnace and does not sway and vibrate.
5, the sample heating time is 55S, the cooling time is 5S.
6. Accurate and reliable counting and timing devices are required during the test.
Test fixtures meet the requirements:
1, has good heat resistance and oxidation resistance.
2, can simultaneously install two specimens.
3, can adjust the depth of quenching water at the notch end of the sample.
4, crack measurement using a magnification of 30 times the tool microscope, its accuracy is not less than 0.01mm.
