Non-toxic biodegradable toys available

The Spanish Institute of Toy Technology has invented a new technology that can add almond shells to plastic materials to produce non-toxic, biodegradable toys.

The researchers said that through this technology, plastic products containing almond shells can be processed using conventional methods, in which the almond shells account for 45% of the weight in plastics. Toys made from almond shell plastic can be recycled because they are easily biodegradable without emitting or remaining toxic substances.

According to reports, the almond shell plastic toy looks like a wooden toy, but it can be bent like a plastic. This gives greater flexibility to toy designs and the rapidity of toy production. Manufacturers do not need to replace production lines and materials currently used.

Experts point out that almond shell is a renewable natural substance. Adding it to the plastic material formula helps to better solve environmental problems. In addition, the price of almond shells is much cheaper than plastic, which reduces the cost of the product.
