Reduction of 9.64 million tons of carbon emissions from operating vehicles

At the pilot of the green cycle low-carbon transportation system construction pilot held on June 18, He Jianzhong, Deputy Minister of Transport, said that from 2011 to 2012, the new system will be implemented because of the strict entry system for fuel consumption of operational vehicles. The number of standard vehicles in the operating market was 2.52 million and 2.76 million, respectively, which reduced fuel consumption by 2.99 million tons and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 9.64 million tons.

In order to save energy and reduce emissions, the transportation industry has strictly implemented passenger transport capacity control policies in recent years. The Ministry of Transport also actively coordinated the relevant departments to establish special funds for drop-and-hang transport trials. Up to now, the pilot project has completed a total investment of 5.9 billion yuan, and the energy consumption per unit of transport turnover has dropped by 15% to 20%, and the unit transportation cost has dropped by 10% to 20%.
