Experienced rowers, Andras Baks and his teammates, are currently making final preparations, crossing the Atlantic in a specially designed rowing boat called Samson. Since 2011, Samson has been developing and has incorporated a design company, LOMO Marine Design, and also helped design and create the Turanor PlanetSolar solar yacht, a planet racing alternative fuel powered boat.
Samson measures a size of 13.4x2.9 in. meters and 650 kg of dry weight, but with all the supplies the team will need to cross the Atlantic Ocean, traversing a ship weighing 1.2 tons. Rowing boats are not equipped with any motors or sales, and are entirely driven by the two racing stations and the crew.
