Among them, membrane-bioreactor (MBR) is one of the most promising water treatment technologies in the 21st century. It has the advantages of high concentration of microorganisms, strong impact load resistance, good effluent quality, and direct reuse. MBR enhanced nitrogen and phosphorus removal process and wastewater reuse technology have been successfully used in the upgrading of Taiyuan Lake sewage treatment plant. On this basis, the research team built a pilot plant with a treatment capacity of 100 m3/day in Wuxi. After more than six months of operation, it obtained important process design parameters and completed a processing scale of 20,000 in November 2009.
