ProPILOT is an innovative automatic driving technology that enables single-lane autopilot on the highway. Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is the first Japanese automaker to introduce automatic steering technology that combines steering, acceleration and braking to reduce the driving burden on congested highways and long-distance commutes. The ProPILOT system uses ZF camera technology to support advanced image processing functions to identify road and traffic conditions and implement precise steering to make the vehicle run smoothly.
At the same time, the award also confirms ZF's "observation-thinking-action" concept, which has successfully upgraded the security and automation capabilities. ZF is continuing to develop a full range of sensors (cameras, radar and lidar), electronic control units (Pro AI and safety domain ECUs developed in cooperation with NVIDIA) and precise control in manual or automatic driving modes. Intelligent mechanical systems for vehicles (steering, braking and active suspension systems).
At the award ceremony held in Yokohama, Japan, Mr. Lake took the award from Mr. Yasuhiro Yamauchi, Nissan’s Chief Competitiveness Officer and head of global manufacturing and R&D.
