China’s ship exports surged in the first quarter

        According to national customs statistics, China’s ship exports in the first quarter of this year were 8.29 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 34.8%.

        In the first quarter, among the main export ship products in China, the bulk cargo ship ranked first, with an export value of 2.26 billion US dollars, accounting for 27.3%. For the first time, floating or semi-submersible drilling and production platforms surpassed tankers in third place, with an export value of US$930 million, a year-on-year increase of 6068.6%, indicating the rapid development of offshore equipment manufacturing industry represented by offshore platforms.

        It is understood that in the first quarter, China exported a total of 139 countries and regions, of which Asia is still the largest market for China's ship exports. The export value of ships is 5.26 billion US dollars, accounting for 63.4%, an increase of 52%. From the perspective of specific countries and regions, Hong Kong, Singapore and Myanmar ranked the top three in China, and the export vessels amounted to 1.89 billion US dollars, 1.887 billion US dollars and 690 million US dollars respectively.
