Bed casting
The machine tool bed is a large casting, which adopts high strength cast iron HT250-300 with good toughness and long service life. It is widely used in the processing of instruments, electronics, light industry, standard parts, bearing industry, Auto Parts industry and other parts, especially suitable for non-ferrous metals.
Features of machine tool bed:
(1) Good performance and shock absorption. Graphite in cast iron is beneficial to lubrication and oil storage, so it is powerful. Similarly, due to the existence of graphite, the shock absorption of gray cast iron is better than that of steel.
(2) Powerful process. Because of the high carbon content of gray cast iron, which is close to the eutectic composition, the melting point is relatively low, the fluidity is good, and the shrinkage is small, so it is suitable for castings with complex structures or thin-walled castings. In addition, because graphite is easy to form broken chips during cutting, the machinability of gray cast iron is better than that of steel.
