On May 15, the 2015 Commercial Vehicle Industry Development Forum was held in Shiyan. The forum is the sub-activity of the 9th China Central Investment and Trade Expo. With the theme of “Transformation, Innovation and Expansion of Commercial Vehicle Industry under the New Normal Situationâ€, the Forum organizes well-known experts and scholars in the commercial vehicle industry, multinational corporations and domestic famous enterprises to carry forward the prospects. Sexual, international and professional speeches and cutting-edge dialogues aim to exchange experiences, build consensus, strengthen cooperation and provide intellectual support for the sustainable and healthy development of the commercial vehicle industry.
The forum was hosted by the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the China Automobile Association, Dongfeng Company and the Shiyan Municipal Government, and Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. and other units. Yang Yihang, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, Li Wanli, deputy secretary general of the China Automobile Association, Guo Junping, deputy secretary of the Shiyan Municipal Committee, Tong Dongcheng, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Company, and Zhang Huili, deputy mayor of Shiyan City, attended the forum.
In his speech, Tong Dongcheng said that after decades of development, China has established a complete and independent commercial vehicle R&D and production system. In the domestic market, self-owned brand commercial vehicles occupy an absolute dominant position, which is the main battlefield for independent innovation in the automotive industry, and is also a concentrated expression of the strength of “Made in Chinaâ€. In the field of medium and heavy trucks, the domestic market has a scale of about one million, and more than 95% of them are self-owned brands, accounting for almost half of the global market. At present, in the era of "Internet +", innovation drive has become the new normal. The era of China and the country will soon come. The transportation industry is more intensive, professional and intelligent, and commercial vehicles are facing unprecedented challenges. In the past ten years, domestic medium and heavy trucks have grown at an average annual growth rate of 15%. In 2010, they reached a peak of 1.29 million vehicles. This year, it is estimated that there are only 800,000 vehicles. Where should Chinese commercial vehicle companies go? Tong Dongcheng expressed four views. First, enterprises with lofty ideals never fear competition. Under the situation of non-growth, commercial vehicle enterprises should win competition by improving the quality of connotation, relying on brand, quality, reputation and technology. Second, promoting China's transition from a "car big country" to a "car power country" is the common responsibility of commercial vehicle companies; the third is "going out" to build a world brand from China; the fourth is the long-term stable development of the Chinese economy, providing a revolution for the industry. We must rely on opportunities, implement changes, and surpass ourselves to make joint efforts for the continuous improvement of China's commercial vehicle industry.
